Kite Away With Me.

I wanted to make something to thank those who have inspired, nurtured, and challenged my relationship with kiting physically, mentally, and emotionally. Every time I get a launch, hit the water, stick a new trick, crash silly, look over and see the sun setting and a friend smiling / concentrating really hard on being a flying ninja I am reminded of just what a lucky girl i am.
So grateful for all the love & laughs :)

MAUI MEDICINAL HERBS - I made a website?

 BEFORE :(

AFTER :)

I spent the last couple weeks on Maui building an ecommerce site for Maui Medicinal Herbs based on an existing template. I made simple changes through the use of a CSS style sheet. Im not a web designer, but by simply cleaning up the images, having a cohesive color scheme, and making the typography legible, one really can transform their business presentation. This was a long, but beneficial learning process.

In speaking with other friends we have confirmed that small business owners need help. They usually aren't the most organized and dont have much of an idea of how their business is perceived, because they get so caught up in just catching up to all they have to do. As frustrating as it can be, I really enjoy working with small businesses. I love stepping in and helping both refine their business strategy and image, its work intensive, but rewarding, and always a well rounded project.

Need really awesome organic herbs? ... www.mauimedicinal.com
I take Turmeric extract and Noni capsules daily and can't remember the last time i was sick. And im convinced turmeric is why my joints haven't withered away from so many activities.

My office, my fans

Its always refreshing to have a crowd outside your window tantalized by what you are investing your life into, even if they are cows and have no discretion with where they poo. always entertaining.

Maui Thing - Apparel Design

While Interning at SAE Design in July I had the opportunity to do some illustration work and apparel design for Sae's company, Maui Thing. I was asked to create a line on endangered species for children and Native Hawaiian Plants for Women.

Kiteboarding on Maui - Jesse Richman

A project I developed my last quarter in University inspired by my very talented best friend and boyfriend, Jesse Richman. The film photographs I took with a basic 35 mm disposable camera over the course of Winter/ Spring - 2012. Im sort of in love with film photography... I created the scenario in which the photographs would be displayed in an exhibition at the Maui Arts and Cultural center. The final exhibition identity included a poster, tickets, environmental graphics and a book. The use of semi transparent vellum and spray paint really complimented the story the film photographs tell. The book is much lovelier in person, as you can experience multiple photos at once and see how the layers interact to create a whole.
